TODAY the Daily Dispatch launches its first blog on our website

The blog, run by deputy editor Andrew Trench, is the first of many which we plan to launch in coming months.

A blog, for the uninitiated, is simply a web page which allows the author to post comments, pictures and other material, and which also allows readers to interact with the author – and other readers and users – directly.

Our first blog is a first step in our plan to completely rework our existing website and invites readers and web users to contribute ideas about what they would like from a future Dispatch Online.

We also hope the blog will help cement the great relationship we share with our audience in this great Dispatch and Eastern Cape community. But the blog will involve many conversations and we also intend to use it to give some insight into how we produce our news reports every day and some of the debates we have as journalists covering this community.
